ASPECT 3000-based Bruker NMR spectrometers such as the AM and
AC series continue to serve as cost effective solutions for routine
NMR analysis needs. However, while the ASPECT 3000 provides abundant
power and flexibility for data acquisition and control of all
spectrometer capabilities, it lacks the features of modern, Windows-based
computers for easy archiving of data, creation and editing of
text files, and user-friendly NMR data analysis.

OpenASPECT is a hardware and software package that facilities
easy and rapid transfer of NMR data and other files between the
ASPECT 3000 and an IBM-compatible PC. Once transferred, files
may be further analyzed by any of a number of available NMR analysis
programs for the PC, including "Nuts" by Acorn NMR. OpenASPECT
also facilitates data archiving, since files are transferred as
byte-for-byte copies, and may be returned to the ASPECT 3000 without
undergoing any alteration whatsoever, even after having been stored
on a CDR or other archiving medium.
